Why spend $10 on a movie ticket - on top of overpriced junk food and gas - when you can stay at home to watch a flick?
But movie rental stores can be nearly as expensive. For me, I will rent a movie and forget to return it, making it twice as expensive (most movie rental stores charge a doubled fee for late returns).
Then I discovered Red Box, that big hunk of red metal you may have thought was a Coke machine when you walked out of Walmart, McDonalds or Giant Eagle.
Instead of sugary liquid, however, Red Box dispenses movies. Those new releases you meant to go see in the theater during the fall are now in a Red Box.
What you do is take your credit or debit card to any Red Box. Select a movie and for $1 a day you can keep the movie. The best part is you can return it to any Red Box, which makes it convenient to return and avoid late fees.
I find that because it only takes one night to watch a movie, why pay for five days?
Check out RedBox.com to find the closest box to you.
